Red Pandas was formed in 2023

In their first ever game a group of mixed aged girls played against a much older team in whatever sports kit they could find. Gradually the numbers grew, sponsor helped purchase a kit and with kind support of Kevicc training moved to The Astro. Jump to today and we have three ages groups competing in leagues and another on the way. What started as just two volunteers in Tim and Will is now around twenty coaches and fifteen girls had become more than 100.

Designs from the girls that helped inspire our club badge

In 2023 Totnes and Dartington Football Club held four girls only session in the summer holidays. The idea was to encourage more girls into T&D's mixed teams. The sessions were so popular they continued beyond the summer. The message was clear - girls wanted to play in all girls teams.

When these session threatened to come to an end Tim Cameron Long and Will McLean stepped in. What started as a mixed age group of around fifteen girls training once a week at the Grove school developed into the club we have today. Under the wing of Totnes and Dartington, the girls team took on a new identity: Red Pandas. The girls involved at the time, voted on the name and submited designs that inspired the logo. And so Red Pandas was born.

Our Approach

We run and an inclusive club that gives all girls the opportunity to be part of a club and competitive matches if they want to. Our primary aim is for girls to enjoy the game and thrive in a friendly environment. Beyond this we offer high quality coaching that supports all the girls to improve as players.

Our teams play in the Devon Girls League. Girls involved always get a good amount of play time and we aim to be a successful team that brings everyone along for the journey.
